The mistress of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, a centuries-old vampire known throughout Gensokyo for her immense power, childish personality, and endless curiosity. Despite her prideful and dramatic demeanor, she is capable of showing kindness and generosity toward those she considers worthy of her trust.
Although she often presents herself as an intimidating noble, Remilia is surprisingly playful and prone to indulging in unusual ideas simply to stave off boredom. Her curiosity frequently leads her into adventures throughout Gensokyo, whether intentionally or not.
Remilia has since maintained close friendships with Blake and Sakuya Izayoi ever since the former's arrival in Gensokyo, eventually becoming one of the most influential figures in his life and of Gensokyo's elite.
When Kazuki Murasaki first arrived in Gensokyo during the winter of 2015, he was found half-dead beneath a mound of snow outside the Scarlet Devil Mansion's front doors, after wandering through a blizzard with no memory of how he arrived. Remilia ordered that he be brought inside and attended to, allowing the injured outsider temporary refuge under the condition he help the Izayois with minor duties around the estate, despite knowing almost nothing about him.
During his brief stay in the mansion, Remilia treated Murasaki with an unusally moderate degree of patience and pragmatism. Although she was suspicious at first of this mysterious man and the tanto found in his possession, she recognized that he posed little to no immediate threat.
Unlike Blake and Sakuya, who spent considerable time personally assisting him, Remilia largely observed Murasaki from a distance. Nevertheless, she realized that beneath his amnesia and exhaustion was a stubborn soul unwilling to surrender so easily. While she offered him a place and a position within the Scarlet Devil Mansion, she never outwardly forced this onto him and simply let things play out naturally.
When Murasaki ultimately chose to leave and pursue answers about his forgotten past on his own terms, following a fistfight with Blake, Remilia honored his decision without much protest. She formally revoked his residency in the mansion at his own request. In many ways, Remilia was the first person in Gensokyo to acknowledge Murasaki's right to choose his own path, even when that path leads away from the safety she could have offered him alongside the Izayois.
